About
RCIA, or the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, is the process through which students learn about Catholic faith and life. It is the process where non-Catholic students explore Catholicism, ask questions, and get to know members of the Newman Community. The process incorporates instructions on Catholic teachings, small-group faith sharing opportunities, sponsorship and support from members of the Newman Community, and an invitation to students to relationship with God and others. Students who participate in the entire year-long process are fully initiated into the Church, celebrate Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist with the entire Newman Community, and are sent out to become active participants in the Church’s life and mission. It is an exciting and wonderful ministry at Newman!
